Extreme Makeover for AGM Grant Makers Directory Database
As the first step in AGM’s technology infrastructure extreme
makeover we are announcing the New AGM Grantmakers Directory Database.
It has a totally new interface to make searching easier and more
efficient. The new search functionality includes:
• Choose between simple keyword or advanced searching which
allows you to select and combine the fields and the terms as you
need to.
• Filter out foundations that do not accept unsolicited requests.
• Filter by asset range.
• Save your searches to continue working at a later date or
time
• Mark records to email or print directly from the database
• Select the format of your search results: list, contact
information or full record
• Select plan text or full formatting (bolded, color) for
your search results report
Also new is the ability of the Grantmakers to update their information
at any time. An easy to use web interface makes this all possible.
The updated information is available almost immediately. AGM Members
are easily distinguished from non-members by a †. Newly added
organizations are also highlighted. We hope to be more proactive
in obtaining new foundations based on their program interests and
the needs of the region.
The AGM Grant Makers Directory gives philanthropic organizations
in Massachusetts and New Hampshire the opportunity to describe,
in their own words, the goals and guidelines of their grant making
programs. It is a tool for Grantmakers to explore their colleagues’
grantmaking activity and interest areas. It gives the grant seeking
community basic information on which to build a comprehensive list
of potential supporters, in order to begin a discussion of mutual
interests with those organizations. Thorough research is crucial
to effective fundraising, and this directory has been designed to
help fundraisers begin the process of learning all there is to know
about this region’s grant makers. The Directory provides five
types of indices to help you narrow your search. The release date
is scheduled for April 22.
