Professional Education Scholarships
Associated Grant Makers is pleased to announce a new initiative called the Professional Education Scholarships. The Professional Education Scholarships will help defray the registration fee expenses to participate in workshops and trainings offered by Nonprofit Support Center’s. (Nonprofit Support Centers are organizations located throughout Massachusetts that provide resources and workshops the help to build capacity in the nonprofit sector.)
Four NPSC’s that span the Commonwealth will be participating in AGM’s 2009 Professional Education Scholarships. Participating NPSC’s are: TDC, MetroWest Nonprofit Network, the Institute for Nonprofit Development at Mt. Wachusett College and the Human Services Forum. We believe that for many nonprofit leaders, cost is one of the major reasons for not attending professional development coursework. Recognizing the critical importance of supporting the professional development of our sector’s workforce, we believe that the Professional Education Scholarships will offset workshop expenses in an important way that will contribute to the sector’s support of rising leaders.
- To participate, you must be an employee (full or part-time) or volunteer for a nonprofit organization.
- NPSCs will offer scholarships to nonprofits not to exceed $125 each. Scholarships cannot be more than 75% of cost to attend.
- Individual participants may only receive one scholarship per year.
- Organizations receiving scholarships must have an annual operating budget of less than $2 million. Each organization should be limited to no more than two scholarships per year.
To participate, please download and complete the Professional Education Scholarship application. Then mail or fax the application to the NPSC in your region. Download the scholarship application here.
